Last Minute Fairy - GIF PROCESS

This is the general process I went through with the picture. It doesn't include the very very final product, but quite closely there. It's because I made the gif but then I edited the final picture some more, and was too lazy to also alter the gif I made. However, it is 98% there in the final step in this gif. There are only some changes in lighting, light glow, and color overlay. Drawn on SAI.

I started the entire thing with a quick bg sketch and some lines to get the general idea down. As you can see, I didn't always plan to have deer and presents. In fact, most of the stuff in the picture turned out differently from what I had planned (birds and polar bear). Even the outfit had some changes. My rough sketch on paper had a more royal feel to it, but I felt it wasn't suitable for a helper fairy. After these initial jottings, I just painted my way through with rough blocking and later some details. The fur on the deer was probably the most fun. I am not satisfied with the hair; for some reason I did it in a blockier version in this picture. You can see that I also adjusted her legs and sitting angle throughout the picture. Arches are tedious to draw.
